Our summer officially began this week with Soccer Camp via our Park and Recreation (which I love). Ms A was so excited, especially when she saw Ms J on their first day. She loved learning how to toe stop, pass the ball and play games like clean the junkyard (kicking all of the soccer balls to the opposing side before the time up) and sharks and minnows ("minnows" trying to get their soccer ball to the opposite side before they get tagged by the "sharks"). She loved being the shark. They also had several scrimmage games with each other. Ms A was pretty good at being the goalie and cheering Ms J as she made the goals.

Good Sportmanship?!?
We were playing a little game of Old Maid this evening when Ms A drew the WITCH!!! (Just a little background: She Hates/is Scared of the witch. The story of Dora and the Snow Princess made a HUGE impression on our little one.) Tears and screams immediately ensued. Reed quickly grabbed the camera while I tried to calm her down.
Here are a few shots of the during
we just chose the witch card from mommy.
(notice the HUGE TEARS. She's been doing that since the day she was born.)
and after, she wanted a picture of the Princess Dora cards.
I convinced Ms A to let daddy draw the last card from her hand, even though the game was over. You should have seen the gloating. I think we need to find out how to teach our four year old to win/loose gracefully and cheerfully. Any ideas?!?
