Beach Fun

We went to the beach Wednesday. Ms A ... COULD ... NOT ... wait to play in the sand. We grabbed our sand castle *tools* and went to play.

As we were looking for a play to play we noticed some people carving this sunken ship. It was interesting watching them build and shape this ship complete with two cannons.

Ms A wanted to make a little maze, so we made a spiral one. She had a fun time going in and out of the spiral.

Grandma Gayla drew this mountain and tree picture complete with deer and flowers.

After a fun time playing in the sand, we watched the sunset.

New Park

Last July the city started construction on a park next to our neighborhood. Ms A and I were so excited to watch it being built and could not wait to play there. We spent several days watching the BIG trucks move dirt, cement trucks poor cement and the construction workers build. We also enjoyed trying to guess what they were building and where things would go. It was a wonderful way to spend time and learn about what they were doing.

Here are a few pictures of our park being put in. We missed a few months of construction due to our accident.

We love playing there especially the play area and water feature.

On Jumping and Scooters

Today after General Conference (which was EXCELLENT), we went over to our local, under construction park. Ms A loves to JUMP, so she was more than willing to test her jumping skills all over the soon-to-be water feature. She caught some good air and had a grand time jumping from all sorts of (safe) heights and places.

We have a friend who heard Ms. A talking about how much she loves scooters, so our friend gave Ms. A an extra one that she had been given. (Thanks J and P. Ms A has been in heaven ever since.) She talks about and tries to show everyone her new scooter. One of her favorite things to do is to ride it over to the park. She loves trying out the new paths as they are finished.

Taking a Walk

We have a new park within walking distance that is under construction. Ms A and I love to walk around it and see what's been done. We also like to watch the construction process. Ms A loves the HUGE trucks and asked tons of questions about what they are doing. Tonight I decided to take the camera along our nightly (at dusk) walk. Ms A was tickled when I started snapping pictures of her jumping off the bleachers. She giggled whenever I caught a picture of her mid-air. If I missed, she'd do it all over again. (I had a lot of those pictures.)

We also like the under construction part because the curbs are higher and Ms A loves to practice her balancing skills. This evening she walked back and forth without holding my hand! (Great job Sweetie)

I also noticed some wispy clouds in the sky. They looked so fascinating. I love watching the clouds go by.

When Mom Is Away....

I was upstairs for a few moments and didn't hear much noise coming from our little one. I thought she was playing, so I stayed up a bit longer, when it continued to be quiet, I went downstairs and discovered, Ms A had pulled the chair over to the counter, climbed up and proceeded to do THIS:

I guess I need to find a new place to keep those "mom supervised" toys. Fortunately it was face paints instead of markers or pens. ;)

*** When washing her face last night, we discovered Ms. A used blue and pink markers along with the face paints. Scrub, scrub, scrub! :) ***

Shaving Cream!!

I was speaking to my mom a few weeks ago looking for ideas to entertain a certain three-year old. She mentioned at the end of the school year, some teachers spread shaving cream over the desks and let the children play while they clean the desks. I thought what fun idea. When I saw a similar idea from a curriculum program we tried out, I thought I'd try it out. Well, tonight was our first attempt. I learned a couple of things:

- Explain first how it's not food (whipped topping, now that would be messy and sweet.)
- Loads of fun
- Cannot be contained to a cookie sheet
- Blue Food dye is cool
- Mommy makes a GREAT target! :)
- Aprons help a little
- Keeps a three-year old busy for 20 to 30 minutes :)
- One three year old can make quite a mess especially when she claps her hands full of cream :)

Overall it was a blast. She had even more fun washing her hands, face, hair, apron, cloths and cookie sheet.

Ms. A 's Jungle Gym

Ms. A loves having her baby crib in her room. It's like an indoor jungle gym. She'll climb inside, play with the toys, throw dolls out that she wants to play with, climb out and then put the toys she's done with back in the crib. Sometimes she'll climb in and play with the dolls that are in there. I love listening to her pretend play. I also learn what phrases I use around her. I can tell what I've said to her on a regular basis! :)










We went clothes shopping for some winter shirts and this top was on of her choices. The skirt I made. I found some great corduroy fabric in the print and in a solid chocolate brown. She looks adorable in them once you get past the floral top, patchwork skirt and striped leggings. The second picture, Ms. A had to make sure that I could she her skirt, so she lifted it up for the camera to see it better.
