Happy Easter

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. I love the rebirth that it represents. I love watching my girls look for eggs and re-hide them for the next week or so. They are so fun they way get so excited. I made a set of cards for them and of my nieces and nephews. My three year old kept on touching the Nuvo Crystal drops and asking if she could have her card as I was finished the sentiment after everything dried. She was so disappointed and thrilled when I told her "Soon!"

Easter Flowers

I love Spring, The flowers blossoming, the rainshowers and the way everything looks new. I saw The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and thought. Hurray!! I love Spring, this pretty flower, glitter and my little bunny with a scarf, because sometimes you need a scarf with those windy/rainy Spring days. I love the patterned paper with the fence design.

Summer has *FINALLY* Arrived!

We have had a few days with no rain, so I think summer may make an appearance. Ms A and I enjoyed a sunny day looking at our pretty flowers. It felt wonderful to feel the sun and breathe some fresh air.

The next day it warmed up enough to play at our local water fountain. Ms A could NOT get ENOUGH time in the water.

Baby Chicks

Ms A's Preschool class has been studying chickens and Spring the past couple of weeks. Her teacher brought in some eggs for the children to watch. Last week they HATCHED!! Everyone was so EXCITED! The children loved hearing the cheep, cheep of the little chicks. Ms A talked for quite a while about how soft, small and cute they were. The highlight was holding the baby chick.

Plumper Pumpkin Patch

Ms. A had her first Field Trip in Preschool - The Pumpkin Patch with daddy. She was thrilled to go and has been talking and asking about it for the past two weeks. Monday Ms Jo Ann, her teacher, gave the children some instructions which she faithfully recounted to me. :) Apparently the hayride was a bit nerving racking, Ms A was concerned she might fall off so she asked Reed to hold her hand. They had a wonderful and wet time. She was so proud of her pumpkin that she was able to choose "ALL BY MYSELF!"

I Looked Out The Window

and what did I see? Sunshine! When I started typing, I heard something else, when I looked I saw pea sized hail falling!! It lasted for a couple of minutes, then the sun came out again.

Actually to be more correct the Sun was shining on the west side of our house while their were dark gray clouds to the east.

I LOVE SPRING WEATHER!! :)

Is SPRING here?

I have been aching for Spring to come. No more snow or gray clouds, I want flowers blossoming, trees budding, birds chirping and some blue skies!

On Friday, I saw a glimpse of spring!

and a few tulips bursting through the ground.




I was ecstatic! Ms. A and I decided to celebrate with a trip to one of our favorite stores - HOME DEPOT.

We purchased a Heather bush and rushed home to plant it. It felt wonderful to get my hands dirty (gardening used to be torture, but now I love it!). Ms. A got into the swing of things as well. She had a blast digging in the dirt with her spade. :) After our gardening, we had a picnic on the front lawn. YUM! I felt rejuvenated and refreshed.

Now back to the rain..... :)

Magic Pumpkin Patch

There is magic in the Nelson home. Earlier in the week, I posted up a piece of paper with the words The Magic Pumpkin Patch. Ms. A and I said the magical words: "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo," held our breathe and made a magical wish. As the week progressed, we were delighted to see the magic in action. First some roots, then a wisp of a vine and soon there were vines twirling all around. Next came some more magical words. When we woke up the next morning yellow blossoms had appeared! Some more words and two days later we spied PUMPKINS growing on the vine. Ms. A was delighted to take the non-slippery insides out to discover candy!

I loved watching her excitement and anticipation as the patch grew.

Playing in the leaves {revisited}

Oh, how I love autumn! Raking leaves is one of my favorite parts of fall. I love to do it and can't stand it when it's left undone. I know a bit weird.

Ms. A loves playing in the leaves, but what was on our lawn wasn't enough to play in. So I raked part of our neighbor's leaves to fill in our pile. She ran, jumped and played for awhile, then mean mommy brought the yard debris container over. She promptly laid down on as many leaves as possible protecting the leaves from me cleaning them up, as I have in the recent past. (A tragic experience for another day.) I let her play in the leaves for a bit longer. When I tried to clean them up, Ms. A grabbed armfuls to tuck them safely away. We finally got the leaves put away with the promise of more leaves falling soon. :)

Leaves, Glorious Leaves!

Ms. A LOVES leaves. Today I raked them into a pile and she raced and 'jumped' into the leaves. I love how she is cheering herself as she runs! After the race, she laid down in her nest of leaves and pretended to be a baby pony. She had a great time until mommy threw the leaves in the yard debris container. I've spoiled her leaf playing antics a few times this season.
