Rain is Falling All Around

We arrived home from Preschool just in time to watch a rain and hailstorm. Ms A was thrilled to play in the rain. We don't have adequate rain gear, so we improvised. Who says snow pants are only good from the snow?!?

Splashing and Singing:

The song Ms A is singing is from a My Little Pony movie.

We had fun talking about the rain cycle and what makes hail. Ms A loved stomping and splashing in the puddles, I also pointed out the ripples in the puddles. She loved "skipping" her rock across the puddles. According to Reed, you need to have a big lake or pond to 'skip' rocks, but Ms A had fun with her puddles.

No Training Wheels

With summer quickly approaching (fingers crossed), Reed and Ms A decided it was time to take off the training wheels.

Mowing the Lawn

Reed has been gone the past couple of weeks doing trainings and meeting customers in Taiwan and Shanghai. While he's been seeing this:

We've been doing this:

I love how Ms A gets a RUNNING start before she mows the lawn. She was so delighted, I had to let her do it. She was closely supervised. After her turn I mowed the lawn, my first ever, (never did it as a teenager, young adult or adult.

More pictures of Reed's trip once I figure out what they are (Thank goodness for Wikipedia and hopefully some help from Reed. :) )

New Tool and Ideas

I love Ms KWerner's blog! A couple of months ago, I saw her video using Marta Stewart's Garden Trellis punch and I fell in love! I HAD to have that punch. I checked out a couple of crafts stores here, at Sara's and my mom's, but no such luck. Finally I went to Michaels (don't know why I didn't try there first) and they had one punch left. I quickly grabbed it as I checked out the other punches. It was SO HARD to reel myself in and not go off the deep end of purchasing punches. She has some fun ones. As soon as I came home, I went crazy, punching all sorts of papers and making a bunch of cards. I was in HEAVEN! Here are a couple of the cards.

Aren't they BEAUTIFUL!!
I'm going to have a hard time finding loving homes for these!!!

Birthday Celebration and Easter Festivities

With Reed being in Taiwan and Shanghai for Ms A's fifth birthday, we decided to celebrate it a bit earlier. We went shopping for ideas a couple weeks before and the only thing Ms A wanted was a pair of roller skates. I told her she needed to learn how to skip (I figured it would help her with her balance and coordination) and then mommy and daddy would think about it. She practiced quite a bit with the skipping those two weeks with her end goal in mind. As a special bonus, Aunt S and her children came up for Easter. She was SO EXCITED to spend the weekend with her cousins! I love her expressions as she opened the present up and saw her skates!

Happy FIFTH Birthday my SWEET PEA!!!

Our ward, church group, had a Spring Fling with an Easter Egg Hunt and other Easter games. The party was great and the weather was perfect. Ms A loved hunting for her eggs and counting them as she gathered them. She and Ms E partnered up for the Egg Toss and Egg Relays. Ms A was devastated when she missed the egg in the toss. :(

Easter Sunday was perfect. I finally got to dress up my sweet little girl in a YELLOW dress with a little white cardigan. (She always wants to wear pink and never a little sweater) Aunt Sara braided her hair and Ms A was tickled to pose for mommy and the camera.

Digging for Dinosaurs

Ms A's Preschool classes just finished a section on DINOSAURS. She was so excited to bring home her projects and tell us all about Dinosaurs. Two of her favorite activities she and her classmates completed were Dinoland and a 'rock' with a fossil in it. She was thrilled to take me on a tour of her Dinosaur land, showing me the lake for the Pteradons and the forests for T-rex all while singing the song from the Dinosaur Train.

The last day of the section Ms A brought home her rock. She wanted for her cousins to come for a visit so she could break it open with them. Here are a few pictures and a movie of Ms A's dinosaurs.
