New Park

Last July the city started construction on a park next to our neighborhood. Ms A and I were so excited to watch it being built and could not wait to play there. We spent several days watching the BIG trucks move dirt, cement trucks poor cement and the construction workers build. We also enjoyed trying to guess what they were building and where things would go. It was a wonderful way to spend time and learn about what they were doing.

Here are a few pictures of our park being put in. We missed a few months of construction due to our accident.

We love playing there especially the play area and water feature.

Memorial Day

My maternal grandfather fought in World War II in the Pacific rim. He never told us of his experiences. I always wished I had asked him before he passed away when I was 16 years old. I still remember his jokes and fabulous stories. I miss him so much and always felt like he's been my guardian angel throughout my teenage and adult life. Here are a couple of pictures of my dashing grandpa.

This one is when he was stationed in the Pacific. I am amazed that anyone could be so limber, this also shows what an amusing person he was.

I miss and love you grandpa. Thank you for fighting for my freedoms and for the legacy you gave to me!
Here's my maternal grandma shortly before she left us. I lived with her for a short time while I was in college. It was wonderful and educational to spend time with her and to learn more about her and my mother.

My Memorial Wreath revisited

My paternal grandparents. Grandma left us a year after this picture and Grandpa left us last year at Easter. I am so grateful for the laughter, stories, memories and the legacy they left me.

It's wonderful to know that while they are not here, we will see each other again, give hugs, listen to stories and jokes and watch Grandpa K jump rope!

What to Do on an Overcast Day

Sweet Pea and I love to create cards together. Typically, I'll grab my supplies and she comes running from wherever she is. With today being a holiday, I decided to spend some quality time with my little sweet pea! She was so excited to pick out the supplies and choose a couple of people to send the cards. We had a wonderful time! Ms JoAnn is her Preschool teacher and the Schmitts are her Primary teachers.

Twinkle, Twinkle

We purchased a new camera in preparation for our summer trip to Glacier Park. It has been so fun to check out the features. One of our favorites in the HD video, much better quality than our last video camera. Here's a test video we made of Ms A singing one of her favorite songs. I love how she space out the "What...you...are?" at the end of the song, just like I sing to her each night at bedtime.

Adoption

After many attempts to have biological children, we have decided to add to our family through adoption. Our Adoption agency, LDS Family Services, informed us that many adoptions occurred via word of mouth. Mother's Day

In anticipation of Mother's Day, I made dresses for Sweet Pea and I along with coordinating necklaces. As a child my sweet mother would make coordinating dresses for me and my four sisters {which was fun until I was about ten, I endured it until I was twelve}. So when I started cutting out a new dress for me, Sweet Pea begged to have a matching dress for her. I was a little hesitant considering all those matching Easter and Christmas dresses, but decided to go ahead. Sweet Pea was tickled and even more excited when we made necklaces to go with our dresses.

Mother's Day began with delicious waffles and scrambled eggs made by my two favorite people. I giggled a little when Sweet Pea exclaimed: "They look just like mommy's waffles, we must have done it right."{ with a beaming smile} Sweet Pea also promised that I didn't have to do anything I didn't want to do. What a treat! {She had a little convincing to do with daddy. :) }

As the day ended, I let my sweet pea know how grateful I was to be her mommy. She smiled and said "Me, Too!" The perfect ending to a perfect day!
